A-Levels 2012: Round-up

There was plenty of encouragement for our students and teachers in the press today, following the release of our A Level results.

  • The sponsor of our Federation, Lord Harris of Peckham, wrote a piece for The Sun newspaper saying how proud he was of all our students.   He said that yesterday, when he came to the Harris Federation Sixth Form to see students opening their results, was one of his favourite days of the year.

  • Writing in The Telegraph, Fraser Nelson said:
“The most pernicious equation in public life, between wealth and GCSE results, cannot be found in the new breed of Academy schools. The Harris Academy group, which runs 13 schools in deprived inner-city boroughs, announced yesterday that it is sending pupils to Bristol University for maths, Warwick University for law and Imperial College for medicine.”

  • The Independent published a fantastic picture of one of our students collecting his results.  You can see the picture by clicking here.

  • We were pleased to see that the South London Press put Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich on its front page, which you can see by clicking here.

Once again, congratulations to all our Sixth Formers for your achievements.
