Harris Primary Academy Charlton / Greenwich

Welcome

The Department for Education has approved the Harris Federation to open a new primary school in Greenwich.

We will be working with the ESFA and the London Borough of Greenwich to agree a site for the school, at which point the opening date will be confirmed.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich predicts that, in order to meet the need for primary places in Blackheath and Charlton, 105 new Reception places will be needed by 2021. The new Harris primary will deliver 90 of these.

It will work closely with one of the nearby Harris secondary academies – Harris Academy Greenwich or Harris Academy Falconwood, depending on the site chosen – so that children can have access to specialist secondary teachers and resources from as young as age 9.  In our other schools, we have found that children enjoy having this access and that it makes them much better prepared for the transition to secondary school at age 11.

Register your interest

We will run a formal consultation once the site is agreed and will invite parents to help us plan and develop the school.

In the meantime, please register your interest by emailing info@harrisfederation.org.uk, especially if you have a child of primary school age. We will keep you updated with the latest information on the new school.
