The Department for Education has approved Harris Academy Avery Hill secondary school.

Department of Education and the Royal Borough of Greenwich have agreed the new school will open in Avery Hill, Greenwich in 2025.

Working with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and building on the success of Harris Academy Greenwich, this will be a secondary academy for boys. The new school will provide 180 places.

Harris Academy Greenwich is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and receives around seven applications per place available.

With a separate free school for girls which opened in September 2019 with 240 places, the new Harris secondary academy will help to ensure a balance of places for boys and girls in the borough.
