New National Institute of Teaching to be led by the Harris Federation with three other successful school trusts

The government has announced that the new National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) will be led by the School-Led Development Trust (SLDT), a charity founded by the Harris Federation and three other leading school trusts, Oasis Community Learning, Outwood Grange Academies Trust and Star Academies.

The NIoT will open in September 2022 and be the first of its kind in England. It will evolve teacher and leader development up and down the country by using its own cutting-edge research on best practice to inform the design and delivery of its high-quality professional development programmes.

We will lead the London and South East Campus of the NIoT, with three other campuses across England led by the other trusts involved.

We are delighted to be playing our part in this new initiative, with the SLDT chaired by the Harris Federation Senior Executive Principal & CEO Sir Dan Moynihan, and know our combined work in research and delivery will drive up standards across the English education system.
