I know there have been a lot of negative comments aimed at Harris recently. Speaking as a Drama teacher in a Harris school, I can confidently say that my subject is loved and valued amongst the staff. I also know that my SLT will do whatever is right for each individual pupil.

The quote was an answer to a question. Context is the kind of child who wld otherwise not achieve b/c of their circs pre COVID compounded by lockdown. In that situation, it is better for the child to get fewer quals than take all subjects but in the end have little to show for it

Academy Description

Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is a three form entry Academy located in the heart of Chafford Hundred, which is a modern development bordering Lakeside, Thurrock and serving a vibrant and diverse community. Chafford Hundred has good links to central London as well as being accessible from Kent and Essex.

Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is a good school with high educational standards. Our children’s academic progress is regularly monitored to ensure they are all doing as well as they possibly can. The children also take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including a five day residential visit for Year 6 pupils. Parents are very involved in school life, through our PTA, through homework projects, and through Reading and Maths Volunteers.

Our vision is to give every child coming into the Academy an education they enjoy, which both inspires and prepares them for academic and personal success now and in the future. All the staff and Governors share this vision and work together to make sure this becomes a reality.

Our staff team are all committed to ensuring every child can enjoy and excel in their learning, confidence and creativity. We celebrate all our children’s achievements from both in school and outside school activities.
