Kids, we do OK at school with recycling, but this scares the hell out of me. How can we do much, much better? Tell the student council what you want. I want to hear your ideas. - Mr McMillan https://t.co/2rU2JgaH1I

"For every open door at an Oxbridge college, there are 5 that need to be kicked down. For every employer that wants to engage with work experience, there are 100s that won’t or are scared to do so." Congrats to the students going to Oxbridge to kick the doors down! https://t.co/RDMFs7tDcU

Report by shows Britain's top jobs are disproportionately dominated by the privately educated. Politics, business & the media remain in the grip of those born into wealth & power. But watch this space. Here are some of our 51 pupils with Oxbridge offers this year. https://t.co/V3AihAvOaq

Harris Academy Sydenham

The Department for Education has approved Harris Academy Sydenham secondary school.

This will be a co-educational secondary school in Sydenham. It will work closely with the successful Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley and Harris Academy Beckenham.

We will be working with the ESFA and the London Borough of Bromley to agree a site for the school, at which point the opening date will be confirmed.

Bromley Council predicts that as many as 300 new Year 7 places could be needed in the borough by the early 2020s. Given our aim of finding a site in Sydenham, the school is likely to meet demand from Lewisham families as well.

We will also develop strong links between the new school and the ‘outstanding’ (Ofsted) Harris Primary Academy Kent House. Its pupils will be guaranteed a place at the new secondary school, with the remaining 120 places available for other families.

Register your interest

We will run a formal consultation once the site is agreed and will invite parents to help us plan and develop the school.

In the meantime, please register your interest by emailing info@harrisfederation.org.uk, especially if you have a child of primary school age. We will keep you updated with the latest information on the new school.
