New Academic Sixth Form for September 2016

The government has approved a new Harris Free School, an academic sixth form that will open in September 2016.

Called the Harris Central Sixth Form, it will be located in the London borough of Lambeth.  It will be a sister school to the Harris Westminster Sixth Form which opened in September 2014 with three applications for every place, and the Harris Federation Sixth Form which is among the largest in London.

Harris Central will combine a highly academic curriculum comprised purely of the most respected A Level choices with a strong cultural programme.  Its aim will be to prepare students to thrive at the best universities worldwide.

Teenagers who have ever been on Free School Meals or in care will be prioritised for places.  There will be no entrance examination, but students will be expected to have at least 7 A* to C grades at GCSE with a minimum of a B in the subjects they wish to study at A Level.  The sixth form is expected to have a London-wide catchment, with classes not beginning until 9am to allow for travel time.

Year 10 students from Lambeth and across London can already register their interest in a place: email info@harrisfederation.org.uk.
