A level results 2017 - The best yet for Harris sixth formers

16% of students at the Harris Sixth Form, which combines nine Harris academies, achieved places at Russell Group universities, outperforming the national average by 5 percentage points.

Separately, Harris Westminster Sixth Form, which prioritises able students from disadvantaged backgrounds for places, is sending 103 students to Russell Group universities, including 13 who are going to study at Oxford or Cambridge universities. Over 46% of grades received by Harris Westminster Sixth form students were A*- A.

Harris academies with standalone sixth forms also performed well:

At Harris Academy Battersea, as well as 100% pass rate, 90% of grades were C or above, and a quarter of students obtained an A*-A grade.

At Harris Academy Chafford Hundred, 34% of students achieved Russell Group places and at Harris Academy Greenwich, over half of all grades received were A* to B.

Sir Dan Moynihan said:

Improving the life chances for children from disadvantaged backgrounds is a key driver for us. Many of our students will be the first in their family to attend University and will have faced significant challenges to get to this point.

Successive SUTTON TRUST REPORTS have recognised our impact on closing the achievement gap at Key Stage 4. As well as preparing our students well for the more demanding content at A level,  we ensure they are well equipped to thrive when they get there. Through HARRIS EXPERIENCE we offer our most able students the academic and cultural capital they need to compete for places at the very best Universities in the UK and abroad.

Today’s results are a credit to the dedication and commitment of our amazing students and hard- working staff.
