12th Harris Federation Conference

Thank you to the 4,500 staff who attended our 2019 conference at ExCel London.

The video below captures some of the highlights from the event. You can search #ThinkHarris on Twitter to find out more.

All 4,500 of us in the audience were impressed by Natalie and Oscar, Year 13 students at Harris Academy Beckenham, who so confidently compared the event.

Another highlight was hearing the combined 150 voices of the Harris in Harmony choir – made up of students and staff from across the Federation – who sang uplifting rendition’s of Stevie Wonder’s You Can Feel it all Over and John Farnham’s You’re the Voice.

Equally impressive were the hugely talented Dupri and Mica, Year 10 and 12 students from Harris Academy Peckham, who lit up the hall with their versions of Ain't no Mountain High Enough and New York, New York.

There were over 60 training sessions for staff throughout the day, on wide-ranging topics including Shakespeare through the key stages, the importance of enquiry within History and a session led by author Mark Enser on ‘making every Geography lesson count’. Thank you to all the staff and special guests who facilitated these engaging and informative CPD sessions.

The conference is an annual opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our talented teachers and support staff through the Harris Transforming Lives Awards. Congratulations to this year’s winners.
