Education Secretary and Children’s Commissioner visit Harris Westminster Sixth Form
This week, staff and students at Harris Westminster Sixth Form had the pleasure of hosting a visit from the Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel De Souza, and the new Education Secretary, Nadhim Zahawi.
During the visit, they discussed the results of the Children’s Commissioner’s ‘Big Ask’ survey, which captured the views of half a million young people of all ages and from all across the country. It is the largest survey of its kind that has ever been conducted.
We were incredibly impressed by the Sixth Formers present, who shared their own insightful experiences as they discussed the key themes and findings from the survey, such as mental and physical health, life at school, community, family and progress in education. They asked pertinent questions and discussed how the outcomes of the survey could be reflected in government policy.
